I've just repaired a S-One tire with an anchovy from a Weldtite kit. The cut was about 3mm long but wouldn't seal with sealant.

Are these safe to ride on at 5 bar / 70 psi?

Any ideas on how long before I need to replace the tire?

It would be really annoying if it needs to be binned because it has only done two rides so far (about 400 miles) - so 10p a mile.

no idea on road tyres, but i've used them on the mtb and the repair has lasted longer than the tyre beofre i've binned it for being too worn. cant see the extra psi would make much differance, if it's sealed it's sealed

Just keep an eye on it. To many variables to predict (tho someone will no doubt!)

Not sure I'd care to test that theory out desecending Mont Ventoux at 50 mph!

I have repaired my the-ones about 4-5 times, inc a nearly new one 🙁

if you ues a pukka tubeless repair it will last as long as the tyres.

I run 85pis In mine with no probs

I think it may depend on the thickness of the tyre carcass (though definitely pressure too)

light ones like schwalbe pro one can spit out the anchovy IME (if they run at 90 or so, anyway) - I think maybe because there's not enough material to hold the repair in place. The older "one" seem to hole them much better

I haven't repaired an s-one but I have repaired quite a few tubeless road, cross and mountain tyres with tubeless repair patch from the inside and have yet to have one fail in the same place. Is there a reason that an s-one would be different?

I've always used the Weldtite sticky string on tubeless mountain bike tyres but now I'm running tubeless on skinnier tyres I think I'd be more inclined to try a patch in the inside of the tyre. Would probably mean putting a tube in if sealant failed to work on the ride and doing the repair at home.

The anchovie held up fine for 200km of mixed road and bridleway today - thanks! £40 saved.
