have just replaced a Nobby Nic which I put onto a brand new wheel a year ago, after taping with Stans this time last year. It went up fine, though I did have air coming out the rim drain hole until I gave it a slosh about. Made me think that there may be a wee gap in the tape somewhere, or maybe it came though valve seat. Anyway, is it prudent every so often to strip off the tape and replace it ? And if so how often ? Thanks.
Not had to on MTB but have damaged the rim tape when swapping tyres on road rims so needed to replace.
Thanks. I didn’t use levers so I guess more likely I wiped away a bit of sealant when cleaning it off with a sponge before putting new tyre on. It’s holding fine so far so have no intention of removing unless it goes down. Curiosity really, as only been on tubeless for a year.
