Hello
I have been looking through the threads but can’t quite find the answers I’m after. So hoping you guys can help 🙂
I’m converting to tubeless and have got a set of Crank Brothers Iodine Tubeless rims, recommended tyre size is 2.3 – 2.5, I would like to know the implications of fitting a narrower tyre (Say 2.1) than recommended will they still seal and stay on the rim??
Cheers
Ady
It's a 21mm internal width, which as you'll see from http://sheldonbrown.com/tire-sizing.html#width is actually a bit narrow for their recommended tyre widths - should be just fine with a 2.1 tyre. Not that I have experience of CB rims mind you, but I do have experience of running tyres that narrow on far wider rims.
Thats great cheers aracer, gives me a few more options when looking for tyres!
IME with the exception of deep mud, its always better to fit a bigger volume tyre for tubeless, and run lower pressures.
