I need to repair a hole in my tubeless tyre - but when i got the tubless repair kit out the tube of "glue" has sprung a leak and all completely gone.
The rest of the kit is fine
Can I use any rubber solution/cement/glue instead or is the glue specific to tubeless repair kits?
Yeah, it's just bog-standard vulcanising goop like you get in normal puncture repair kits. Tends to go off once you've opened it, so I stock up occasionally with a few small tubes off eBay for exactly this reason.
There is vulcanising solution and rubber cement. They are not the same thing.
Ok - so which one do I need?
Vulcanising solution ("goop" is the technical term 😉 ) is what you get in puncture repair kits and is what I've used in the past.
I think rubber cement is more for gluing tubular tyres onto rims and stuff?
Superglue for tubeless patches.
Random thought. Anyone used Sugru for patching tyres?
