I punctured my rear tyre with a sharp stone yesterday and the hole, whilst not huge, refused to seal. I put a tube in it but I'd like to repair it and return it to tubeless.
Has anyone here got advice on successfull methods they use?
Cheers, Timmy
job done :
works even out on the trail if you have a few mins spare for it to cure.
Glue a patch in made from a section of sidewall from an old tyre.
Bolt
+1 for rubber plugs, they work a treat.
Those rubber plugs have never failed for me.... only marginal if the puncture is right on the bead...
Last one I put a hole in, the sticky worms wouldn't work, hole was too big. I used a car tyre repair plug patch. It worked a treat.
I did superglue and a bit of old inner tube, from the inside. But probably Bolt has the move there: I'll use a bit of tyre if it happens again.
3rd for the rubber/hairy plug things. So good I tend to just leave them in there rather than fitting a proper patch later on.
If I get one of those, rather than messing with a tube my first attempt is a normal patch and plenty of glue (after cleaning the inside of the tyre first). And if needbe, patch and then superglue on the outside when at home.
Never yet needed to put in a tube.
I got some motorbike tyre repair patches cheap off ebay and one of them worked great on a slit about 5mm long in between the treads.
Panaracer tubeless kit here. Not often once in 5 years for needing a tube. And you don't have to take the tyre off the rim so no worries about reseating, getting inflated etc.

You just patch the outside and reinflate? Slick.
