Got my new Cube Stereo, which comes with Tubeless Ready DT Swiss wheels and Hans Dampfs. What do I need to go fully tubeless..just Latex or anything else?
Do the wheels have no valve holes or are pre-taped with "proper" sealing tape ?
You also need washing-up liquid for the beads
Then track pump and good endurance or else a compressor
(If the tyres don't seat properly you might need to put a tube in and stretch/shape them on the wheel overnight. For this reason, don't put the jizz in when you first try to fit them)
I went tubeless on my Cube Stereo a few months ago. I bought the No Flat Joe's kit as opposed to the Stan's no flats (or whatever they all call themselves!). It had some tape and the rubber rim strips, both of which I installed first before seating the tyre on the rim - however, I'm not sure the rubber rim strips were necessary, i just did it as a precaution.
Then spent ages seating the tyre properly although I'd been advised before hand that this was the tricky bit. Even so, ended up borrowing my neighbour's compressor which worked a treat. The only advice I'd give here (other than considering building a bottle rocket thing that's on the forum around here somewhere) is use an innertube initially to get at least one side seated, get some very soapy water (i.e. more soap than water) to help create a seal and then put the valve at the 12 o'clock position with your track pump and push down on the top of the tyre to help create a seal between the rim and tyre whilst pumping like you've been single for years.
Once seated and you've got the sealant in, make sure you seal the tyre one it's fully pumped up. Then enjoy months of puncture free riding!
If the wheels have no holes in them it should be easy. Would start with a couple of wraps of stans tape (or whatever you want to use) and some washing up liquid water to try and get them up. if they pop onto the rim then it's all good. Just did some DT's for the missus and it's just stans tape and a track pump. I banged the sealant in first as I had some backup with regards a compressor.
Rim strips should be overkill.

Or this, dont need a compressor, probably not even soapy suds
I'm surprised people struggle so much. Always managed fine with just a floor pump. You'd need the right sort of rim tape and two valves plus sealant (cheap liquidlatex from eBay is fine). That should be it.

There are so many variables, the rims and tyre combo's are huge. Proper UST/TR stuff all together helps, doing it with other stuff can be harder, throw in some used rubber and it's worse. Do it on a Friday before a big weekend away and then your in trouble 🙂
