Finally set my hard tail up tubeless yesterday. Brand new expensive Schwalbe Evo, tubeless ready, addix tyre. Little surprised after leaving overnight without riding a single turn (obv rotated manually to distribute sealant), the tyre is still inflated but covered in circa 15 white specs on outside where the sealant has sealed tiny pin holes.
Seems wrong to me that a new tubeless tyre would have tiny pin holes in that require sealing. Do I get out and ride or send it back. I’m sure it’s faulty but thought I’d consult singletrack masses.

Tubeless ready tyres need sealant to make them airtight.

Completely normal especially in this heat. Go out and ride it to get the sealant into all the small holes and you’ll probably find it will stop.

I also found Stans Race sealant don’t seem to leak through those small holes as much as other brands of sealant.

Why would you want to send it back when it stayed up?

In my limited experience some tyres do that and some don’t. As long as it stays up you are good to go.

I found my schwalbe tyres 'sweat' way more than other brands.  Doesnt impact on their performance and they stay up fine.

Sometimes 'Tubeless Ready' just means that the bead is strong enough to cope without an inner tube. The completely airtight, UST type tyres are pretty heavy and not that popular

IME UST tyres perform better at very low pressures less "squirmy" than TR equivalents at the same pressure.
