My current ones are worn. Had flat from thorn yesterday, have tried slime tubes etc and don't work so want to go tubeless 30/32c mostly back roads, cycle paths and gravelly bits. Durability and puncture resistance beats speed but don't want anchors like the marathons I had once. Schwalbe g or s one looking like favourites. Anything else to consider that's actually instock anywhere?

Maxxis Padrones here.
A little pricey but working fine as tubeless on Giant PR-2 rims.

Happy with my s-ones too, very easy to inflate.

Loving my S-Ones

I've been able to ride the same bike/tyres on long road rides, short fast blasts and local gravel or smoother bridleways. It was a big surprise when they felt as quick as my old 28mm Ones on the road and more comfortable than my 35mm Small Block 8s on lumpy gravel sections (both previous tyres with tubes on the same bike).

Any idea how s-ones are with glass cuts?

There's one version of the marathon these days that's actually pretty impressive in 37c according to bicyclerollingresistance.com. The old ones were pretty slow. I think it might even come in tubeless ready flavour.

I've been using Hutchinson Sector for a few months now. Been excellent.

First puncture yesterday - About a mile from home I noticed spray from the front wheel.. it was white spray. By the time I got home the front of the bike looked like it had been whitewashed (luckily I had a front mudguard or I would've been too). Hole sealed and tyre stayed up though.. only lost about 20psi. Excellent.

[edit]just noticed they've gone up to £50 each! 😯 don't think I'll be buying again in a hurry!)
[edit]Which seems about the going rate for a tubeless tyre. Oh well.

I've been using challenge strada bianca race 33s for a bit (the rear has been on most of the summer, the front a month or so- they were out of stock). That's a good few hundred miles of mixed surfaces and the tread looks fine.

They aren't 'proper' road tubeless but I've been treating them as slick cx tyres- 50psi max (one on a crest and one American Classic 101). Go like the clappers and continue to go like the clappers on some pretty potholed unmade roads.

They were about 26 quid on bike24 so not too pricey to replace.

Swanny, you running those Strada tubeless?
Have thought about it but judging by their fragile beads I haven't bothered.
Fragile tyres though. Doubt mine did 2000 miles of almost all tarmac before they fell apart. The inner strip delaminated. The importers reckoned that they had had more use than they were designed for. Special day tyres they said. They were replaced FoC though so I am happily using the new pair. Got some S Ones to go on but would love to tubeless the Stradas.

There is a tubeless version of the Marathon Supreme, in 37 or 42mm. Should be about as tough as regular Marathons, but a lot faster and lighter.

I ran normal Schwalbe Marathons tubeless for nearly a year recently with no problems at all
