With the Spring weather I suspect the roads may be rammed with cyclists this week... it'll be the only reliable way of getting around I suspect...

Angry Bob is hastening the business case for self-driving trains and more cycling... 🙂

Ah, the delights of Shed Litter Day, when the streets and cycle lanes are filled with the sonorous clanking and squeaking of unloved bikes complaining as they have their big rings mashed away from the lights. All the while gently accompanied by the mellifluous thrumping of under inflated tyres wobbling along the way...!

Self driving trains? Not this decade. Wait until you start seeing PEDs being installed on existing platforms, then it'll be on the way.
Oh, will be doing combined train/ brompton commuting

I noticed an appreciable increase in motorbikes/ scooters this morning.
a lot of the revvy-bollocks "GET OUT MY WAY I'M NOISY" types.

my main concern is the increase of pedestrian lemmings throwing themselves into the gutter due to the forced surfacing of the underground dwellers.

I ride in anyway, so I quite enjoy tube strikes as I get to see the panic on my colleagues faces as they try to work out their options!

On my train in this morning, chatting to a few of the regulars, and talk turned to the impending strikes. Much consternation, 'how am I going to get across town'. I sat smugly, with my Brompton tucked in behind my seat. One of them looked at me and said, "Smug git!", in a way which I knew was rather driven by jealousy!

I'd imagine the primary driver was your smug face.

😀

Walked in to that one! 😀

Quite often get comments like, "You lucky sod, not having to get on the Tube" from them. Have to say, I'm very glad I don't have to use it, that's for sure!

Someone at work just emailed round a map showing services that are still running. Which appears to be most of them... 😕

Yeah, dead lucky. Bikes are quite picky when they choose their new owners. If you aren't chosen then that's it, you're on the tube.

If you look at the TfL website the service will be quite restricted tomorrow - some lines will be aiming to run a train every 5 minutes.... somewhat less than the 30-33tph they normally provide. It will be quite difficult on the tube tomorrow.
