I bought this on the back of ZFC's review and found it to be a really good lube. There is, however, a fly in the ointment; I opened the second bottle less than two weeks ago because the first bottle had gone solid (I hadn't used it since last year) and it's gone solid already. The top was securely fastened, before anyone asks.

Does anyone know what solvent is used to hold the lube in suspension? I've emailed Tru-Tension and received the standard automated response to expect a reply in 1-3 working days.

No idea, I'm afraid. Tru tension stuff hasn't been that great IME.

The dry lube is so light that the chain goes squeaky in the middle of the first ride after application - in dry weather.

Ive just checked my bottle that I opened over a year ago and haven't used since and it's still liquid. 🤷‍♂️

I've used this for years and really like it. It does tend to go solid if left for a long time, particularly in the cold- but I've never had a situation where I've not been able to return it to liquid with some vigorous shaking. Drop a ball bearing in the bottle to make it easier... also if sub 5 degs then I heat it up by holding in front of a fan heater for a few mins. Apparently, and this is true for all these types of lubes, it's actually recommended to heat the bottle for a really good application, as it thins it and thus aids link penetration.

Sounds like Fenwick's Professional, needs to be sat in a cup of hot water before you can apply it.
