A bit of an odd one this. I bought a bike with slate t4's on and I'm getting on with them pretty well. However I am experiencing one issue. During a ride the lever repeatedly/gradually (not sure, tends to be after descents) moves in toward the bar as if the reach adjust screw has wound out. I wind the reach adjust in again to the push the lever further away again whilst I'm riding so it's more an annoyance than a show stopper. This is happening on both levers and there's loads of pad left and a bleed doesn't stop it either (when the lever is out it feels nice and solid at the bite point too).
Anyone have any experience in fixing this? Thanks in advance!
Have you had any joy with this? I have what sounds like the same issue with mine. I've put a little bit of PTFE tap around the thread of each reach screw. It's fiddly and I'm not looking forward to having to pick it off any time soon but seems to stop the screw unwinding itself.
Old Hayes Nine brakes used to suffer from this - one would wind in and the other out whilst descending......
If you don’t fancy PTFE tape, a bit of low strength Loctite works (222 or similar)
Cheers,
Andy
No I've not managed to get to the bottom of this yet. Thanks for the loctite pointer, I'll give that a go.
