I've just bought a commuter / adventure bike with TRP Hylex brakes. It and they are ace, but I've found that over rough stuff the adjuster grub screw on the front lever shakes itself loose.
Anyone else had this problem? Any easy solutions? I'm thinking I could just take it out and dab a bit of grease in, that should damp the vibrations.
Yep, common occurrence with these.
I asked TRP in September last year, they advised me to put a bit of Loctite on the thread of the push rod. No issues since then, one 3 Peaks and a full winter race season later and there's no movement.
Remove the lever pivot pin, push the thread rod all the way in and remove the lever. Apply the Loctite and put it back together again. Takes a few minutes, pretty simple.
Awesome. That was basically what I thought, just wanted confirmation.
