Anyone recommend any decent trousers that are good for both? I'm thinking maybe some sort of Decathlon softshell hiking trousers might work for both?

Just seems to make sense rather than investing in 2 separate items. I'm sure many on here must be using walking / hiking trousers on the bike?

Keela roadrunner for sure would fit both walking and biking.

Do you want to wear kneepads under the trews?

How warm do you want them to be? Knee pads underneath? How waterproof?
The Decathlon ones would probably be ok. I keep seeing adverts on FB for Northbound Adventure Pants which suggests they’d work well for both without costing the earth.

Don't have to be warm as I don't mind wearing leggings under for colder days. Knee pads aren't a deal breaker as I do have a pair of Endura trousers if needed.

Keela Roadrunners look like a good option, hadn't considered, are they a slim fit? Don't want anything too baggy.

Do they ever go on offer or is £80 the price to pay?

They're a nice slim fit, defo. I got mine for 50 quid recently, were on offer for a short period.

They sent a 20% voucher so I bought their nevis walking trousers too.

pair of jeans from Primark that have some stretch and work well to cover legs whilst doing many activities.
Comfortable and cheap, so if they get ruined they are easily replaced.

I quite liked the Karrimor walking trousers
Big of stretch
Knee pads fitted under them fine

Keela Scuffers if you're looking for a slightly more weather resistant pair; still not chunky by any means and mine accommodate knee pads very effectively. I've only quite recently tried them out as winter cycling trousers for the trails and they're grand. Fit suits me, no sagging at the back and the venting, scuff pad on the ankle and velcro ankle adjust all work.

The regatta questra are great walking trousers which work fine for riding. But too close fitting for kneepads.

They are half price on regatta website and an extra 10% off with code extra10

Should take them down to almost £30. Bargain

Never had any but been meaning to get some Revolution Race trousers of some sort for a while now. Seem to be slim fitting and water resistant so could good for walking and biking.

Those Floe trousers don’t seem to fit anywhere on the model - are they really that flappy in real life?

Rab Torque pants work well for biking if you’re not planning on wearing pads under them. They’re a snug fit, with enough stretch in the material to be comfortable pedalling. Come in a range of colours from unassuming grey to ‘see you three hills over’ mustard.
I had a couple of pairs of the 1st gen version, which lasted 5-6 years of hard use before they were retired to DIY use and I bought some of the current version. Lockdown has meant the new ones haven’t had quite the same use, but happy with them so far.

I wear my Endura riding trousers quite often for walking......especially on the steep bits 🙂 Actually I do use them for proper walking as well.
