@jimmy - there's a very good chance they will be fine. I ran 40mm smooth and 40mm semi-nobbly tyres on my V1 and there was plenty of clearance on 22mm wide internal rims.
Ended up buying 42mm contis which for the frame fine but too big for the mudguards. Swithering between Kinesis Fend Off wides, or Bluemels.
Any experience or pics of either - on a V1?

10 years ago I read this thread and ended up buying a v1 Tripster atr from Freeborn Cycles. I absolutely loved the bike, did tons of miles on it, but ended up selling about 4 years ago because of concerns about longevity due to the cracking issues some contributors to this thread raised. Some of the best times I’ve had on a bike were with that frame, mixing up road and bridleway and just following my nose in the countryside carrying a flask of coffee and a few sandwiches. Since then I’ve tried to find a similar riding steel framed bike and have had some good experiences with offerings from Ritchey and Fairlight. It might be nostalgia, but I’ve found myself looking a the kinesis website and thinking about that zingy ti magic of my v1. Keen to hear from those that are still having good experiences with their ti Tripster - particularly the v3 before I bite the bullet and scratch that itch!
My mate who bought my V1 Tripster 6 years ago still rides it all the time and no cracking yet, in late June he's off to bikepack every island up the west coast that he can fit into 8 weeks of riding
Still got my v1 which I bought back in 2016 and still love it.
It's been upgraded a bit over the years and now has a new fork with trendy bike packing cage mounts , di2 and grx groupset
Still riding my v1 after... 9 years I think. I've thought about trading up for a v3 but there are too many memories. Here she is looking young and spritely just beyond Stornoway in 2017!!
(ps Answer to question above: I went for Kinesis Fend Off wides and they fit fine with the 42mm contis. There's a bit of rattling and rubbing which I need to tinker with!)

To be honest I'm surprised its still intact and going strong, I rode this like I rode any of my mtb's and it took the abuse with ease.

Yep, 9 years on a V1 for me. Done more miles than any other bike I’ve owned, commuting, offroad commuting, gravelling. Only things I’ve replaced since building are the seatpost to a 9er carbon, the front mech to one of the more compact ones and the gravel wheels to newer Mavics. Love it.
Coming up to nearly 4 years with my Tripster ATR V3 now, and its been all that I hoped for...
used as winter roadie with mudguards and 'skinny' tyres, then switches to gravel/bikepacking duties with extra set of wheels and 45mm tyres - been super comfy on 4 day tours and taken everything that's been thrown at it..

Mine is in the garage halfway through a groupset upgrade
Bought mine second hand in 2016. It was an early V1. Did everything from the daily (10 mile each way) commute to all day gravel, to a few loops of some blue MTB trails in the FoD.
Excuse the mis-matched wheels and tyres. I loved the 47mm on the front, but they buzzed the chainstay so I put a 40mm on instead.
Rode a lot in early lockdown and noticed a crack in the weld near the mech hanger 
Sent it off to Limit BMX who sent it back good as new.
Still riding it now and no plans to change although the brake calipers are not in good shape and non-flat mount limits the choices a bit, as do QR dropouts these days.
I use RWS skewers in mine rather than QR
Is anyone missing a V2 Tripster? I found the remains of one at the tip this morning! Looks like it's been under water!
