So, I'm interested in a bit of the Self Supported, EWE route that's pretty huge in one chunk.

Is there an easy way to trim it down, maybe from Aust - Manchester? I'd kinda like to see it on a map and just move the start finish points to gain the bit I'm interested in.

Will then go on a Garmin Etrex 20 if it matters.

Needs to be simple & not too tech!

Ta

If you load the file into something like bikehike then there's options to trim the file. Click on the "Cut to End" button then click on the map where you want the route to stop. To get the start trimmed, click on the reverse the route option then repeat the "cut to end" to get your start point. Reverse the route again to get it in the right direction.

what whitestone said. Dead easy. If it doesn't sound like it from the description, just get started, it'll make sense when you're there.

You can "undo" to go back a step or few, or reupload the route from scratch. You can get several options/ sections of the route, just keep downloading and starting again.

Or you could use Garmin Basecamp. Can show it on a map, and split the track, or delete sections etc.

Garmin Basecamp is what I use. Really easy to split GPX trails and its free software.
