So early 2011 I bought a SC Superlight and started fiddling with the spec. Didn't like Avid brakes, put on Shimano. Dropped 3x9 to 2x9+bash. Wheel upgrade. Added dropper. Changed saddle. Wider/shorter bars/stem. Went 1x11. Fork broke, replaced. Frame upgrade to a Cotic Rocket (all parts apart from shock and headset transferred over). Another new fork. Several bottom brackets over the years.
I just realised that the only part of my current bike that was on the Superlight when it arrived are the Deore cranks. They're well worn from ankle rub but that happened in the first few months...

XT shifter from my Orange E6. Which I think I got in 2002.
On my 26" commuter, errr, seatpost clamp.
Nomad is 4 this year. Crank, seat, hubs, shifter, rear d and thats it! Fork, reverb and shock replaced under warranty. Carbon handlebar. Shorter stem, rebuilt wheels, new casette chain etc. Hope bb and headset. Even wore out the jockey wheels 2 sets of pedals and grips. It has done a lot though....
Which bike?
Roadbike - 50s frame and forks, 70s groupset
MTB - well the frame is early 90s. rest of it is a decade younger bar the front mech with is late 80s early 90s
Tandem - frame is 90s so is most of the running gear

Which bike?
Road bike - most of it is original (and most of it's 30 years old)
Ye olde worlde MTB - most of it is original (about 20 years old)
Cotic HT - the frame (10 yrs old, and just about everything has been swapped once)
CX bike - almost all of it (but it's now 8yrs old so might change a few bits)
Cotic FS - every single component (2 yrs old at most)
edit: i've never sold a bike or a frame, so by definition none can ever be a trigger's broom. If I built a 6th bike, and scrounged saddle/grips from on of the other 5 (with nothing else being reusable due to so many legacy standards), does that make it a trigger's broom?

The only original parts on my "carrera vengeance" are the seat post and headset cap, and belive it or not the original sram triple crank set lol

2007 pro2 hubs, been on 4 different bikes over the years.
rebuilt rear 4 times ( I think?),,,, never touched the front hub.
worth every penny.
Not particularly old but my soon to be semi retired commuter has done nearly 20000 miles, only original parts are the stem, bars, shifters and spacers.
Everything else has been replaced, most things multiple times.
On my Kona hybrid. Frame and forks. And mech hanger. The rest has been changed, mostly worn out.
My MTB. The oldest bits are the Hope brakes and the RaceFace cranks.
Apart from frame, headset & cranks.
It is nearly 10 years old though.

I have a set of Hope Bulbs on D521s from 1999, they are the last original part of my mk1 Bullit, they’ve outlasted that, the Turner that replaced it and a Kona Steely that I flared the head tube on.
It was a front Suntour XC pro thumb shifter I had used since 1996 (on a Bontrager Race, then a Tomac Revolver and finally a Turner Flux). Finally went to a 1x11 set up so its currently on eBay - hopefully it'll find a good home and begin the cycle again 🙂
2006 bombers that I bought for £60 from fruit. He of superstar fame. Still going strong. They don't make em like they used to...
My rear hub shell is from a 2007 hope pro 2, had good knows how many bearings and it's on its 3rd freehub 🙂
Bought an S-Works Enduro in 2003 then quickly set about tweaking it. The only remaining part now is the Hope Mono kit (on a Stumpy FSR).
Looking back, in the first 6 months or so I switched the wheels, forks, stem, bars, grips, pedals, saddle and post.
My rear hub shell is from a 2007 hope pro 2, had good knows how many bearings and it’s on its 3rd freehub 🙂
Now that’s nearly a Trigger’s Broom. 😉
Haha well it's from my first proper MTB; a 2007 Enduro so every part is upgraded apart from the hub shell technically 😀

Back in the day, when I was still in the bike industry, and just before they went, around when I got that saddle bag, we bought almost every single remaining set of Karrimor Kalahari panniers. They were stacked ten foot high and deep. Sold like hot cakes, and I reckon almost all of them are still going. Bombproof kit. See also KS fabric boots of the same vintage.
I think the only original item left on my bike is the valve caps. The tubeless valves came with black and I wanted clear. Everything else has been changed.
I’m still using Hope Mono Mini brakes from 2004 on my commuter.
The cranks on the Pitch I bought in 2008 are in use on my Unit. But the Pitch has evolved so much it's now a T129 with no surviving parts.
Still got a Hope road bike BB that's on its third bike now (fourth if you count the turbo bike it was on for a bit). It's still on the first set of bearings since 2011 and has spent half of the time since then on a winter/CX bike.
My Boardman Hybrid has had new everything except the frame, headset, and seatpost clamp.
Over the last 5,500 miles it's had 5 wheels, but only 5 tyres!

My Hope XC hubs are the oldest item still in regular use I think (2004). They've only been on two bikes though (the 2003 Enduro and the 456 that followed).
I had one bike in the 90s where I think I warrantied or destroyed over half the bike in barely a year... including the frame, front wheel, cranks, seatpin, saddle, and a couple of bits I've forgotten. After twelve months I think only the brakes, levers and shifters hadn't been replaced. A couple of bits got lost by the manufacturer when it went off for a new frame.
Having said all that the replacement frames (the warranty replacement and the alloy GT I bought as it was much nicer) and the RC36 forks I bought at the time are still in occasional use by family members. So 1996/7 ISH.
I have some Avid Juicys which where on my 2004-5 (?) Mongoose Teocali Super ( then the top of their range, the bike was straight off them and actual one leant to the magazines to review), I fitted Goodrich hoses within months. These Avids (now on their fourth bike) have had the pads changed every now and then, think the discs have been replaced once but I’ve never ever bled them again since rehosing them in 2005 ! They are just as good now as then, I’ve long given up any though of ever bleeding them....
Every other brake in the house (there are many) needs bleeding at least once a year.
Nothing that old but my 2011 Formula The One Brakes and 2007 XTR cranks get swapped around every bike I've owned. Not because I'm tight but because I don't think they've really been improved on. And they work in pretty much any application, I've used them from downhill bikes to xc race bikes to fatbikes.
Until a week ago my Deore triple 9spd chainset but after 9 years and 5 bikes the splines have given up their job of holding the non-drive side crank arm on. Slightly younger is a set of Slx brakes that have been on 4 bikes and still work perfectly
I’ve some 12 year old 5:10s that still get used.
The top Chainring is still left of my '98 Kona Caldera, it has it's third frame and everything else has come and gone since.
My wheels from 2007. The front, a Rhyno-Lite rim on a 36H Pro 2 hub, built by Wayne at KMB and has never needed touching with a spoke key. The rear hub, quickly retro-fitted with a steel freehub after the al one got munched, got built into a new rim 3-4 years ago by Badass Bikes. Bearings in each changed once or twice. They're what's keeping me on a 26" bike, to be honest, couldn't afford to replace them with anything near the same quality in a different standard.
I have a Rolls saddle from mid 1990s that goes on every bike. I just love it.
