tremp or ainsa?

Hi - planning a trip in April and wondered which would be better - have ridden in Ainsa/Boltana a couple of times and really enjoyed it so am happy to stick with what I know...but, a friend has recommended Tremp, although he's never ridden there! Is it better/worse or just different? What is the trail access like and are they easy to find? Guide needed?

Access isn't a problem for either as I'm Pyrenees based.

Thanks in advance...

Hi!

The trails in Tremp are generally a little less rocky/rough than the ones in Ainsa - there's more Badlands or Coda Sarten style terrain. This article provides a good outline of some of the trails:

It's not as big a trail area as Ainsa, but there's enough to fill a week's worth of riding (unless you're riding long days on an e-bike).

We love it (being based here...), trails are varied and access is easy, no guiding needed - although if you do decide to come and want tips on trails or other info, just let me know.

Take a look at McTrail Riders vids. They do give a good idea of each area. They both look very, very good.

@stabilizers  Thanks for the videos - still plenty to do at Ainsa it seems - need to do some pondering :/ somewhere old or somewhere new...nice to have the choice!

Thanks for the replies and the offer @redrocktrails - nice part of the world to live 🙂
