I am the owner of a 2019 9.8 Trek Slash. I've had MANY problems with the rear shock, being a RockShox RT3 Deluxe ThruShaft. Basically, the shock has been replaced a whopping 5 times! Everytime, it's the same problem: the seals don't hold and the shock starts losing A LOT of oil. Plus, it sounds as if it's having an asthma attack or something. I have been without my bike all in all for a total of 9 weeks ( I bought it in July 2018 ). Even though Trek has always replaced/repaired the shock, I feel as I if I've been let down and I wanted to share my experience. I have tried to post this on Trek's site, but they didn't publish it ( duh! )

My point is: DO NOT buy this product because the concept of it is faulty. Trek blames SRAM for this, but they should acknowledge their mistakes and replace this product by a proven shock like the Fox X2.

I've heard the same thing from a lot of Slash owners. Every time I hear one of these tales I'm grateful I bought the previous year's model with the standard Super Deluxe.
