Hello all. I have a Trek Roscoe 7 (2021) with the 27.5+ wheelset. I think the hub is a slightly unusual 141mm spacing with fewer options available for upgrade. It also has a notoriously poor hub from the factory which is now grumbling loudly after a weekend in Wales. Can someone talk me through an idiot's guide to replacing the rear wheel? TIA! Rob
I bought a hope pro 4 boost hub and qr adaptors. Gave it to a wheelbuilder and had him build up my wheel. Expensive but worth it. I had spare rims lying round so it worked out ok.
I need 27.5 unfortunately - thanks though.
I have seen some Hope Fortus 35s and understand that the qr end caps take them from 148mm to 141mm. Can anybody confirm that I haven't missed anything?
Yep, my bad.
Yep 14q boost is a normal 148 boost hub with the qr end caps fitted
Just check the weight of the Fortus 35’s - I think they’re the really heavy double wall jobs.
Personally I’d get a Hope Pro4, Bitex or DT350 (if the last 2 can do boost 141) rear hub and get a DT Swiss rim built onto it. XM481 is a good trail allrounder. Strong but not too heavy.
Thanks both. I will have a look at all those options
I think Superstar do 141QR hub options.
Thanks everyone. I ordered the Fortus 35s and they arrived this morning. All fitted now and a similar weight to the stock wheels (but without the grinding noises)! Will be tested at the Suffolk ROC Scramble tomorrow
