Thinking about getting a Trek Roscoe 8 but I was wondering what else is out there?
Any real life experiences/info gratefully received.

Happy trails

Roscoe is a great trail centre bike, I rented the 7 (model below) in in Ireland over Easter at the Ballyhoura Trail Centre and it was perfect, I'd also consider the Vitus Sentier but you would also have to stump up for a dropper post.

In typical STW fashion, I'm going to recommend what I own a Sonder Transmitter I've got the v1 and it's been great at everything from XC to trail centres and natural (almost) Enduro-type terrain. My Full Sus hardly gets ridden these days because it's so capable and fun to ride.

The Roscoe is our best selling HT. Also look at the Whyte range but you'll get more for your £ with Trek

I have a Roscoe 8 and love it. Mainly used for trail centre riding but will be doing the Lakes Jennride on it. The build is good. Had a problem with the free hub body and the rear mech shifting but both issues were sorted on warranty. First plus bike but get on great with the tyres a lot more grip than I used to have.

They come up slightly small, normally I ride an 18" but 18.5 was a little small for me and 19.5 was perfect

The other Options is to recommend something similar you've never seen. The Pinnacle Iroko is that sort of thing with a better build for money

The Roscoe 8 was on my shortlist, along with the similar priced vitus and Whyte models. Ended up with a Voodoo Mambo which is a bit cheaper and is, in my opinion, a superb bike, well worth considering.

The Iroko doesn't look better value in my opinion.
The Roscoe 8 is £1100, a Pinnacle Iroko 2 is £1100. The Roscoe has a Judy Silver and the Pinnacle has a Recon. The Pinnacle has NX Eagle 12 Speed, same as the Roscoe. The Pinnacle has SRAM Level Brakes (which I have on one of my bikes and I much prefer non series Shimano but that's personal choice). They both have a dropper post.
The Roscoe comes with 27.5 2.8 Maxxis Recon tubeless compatible on tubeless compatible rims. The Iroko comes with 27.5 2.6 WTB Vigilante/Trail Boss tubeless on tubeless rims.
I'd say the spec was very similar, but my personal choice would be the Trek. If going for a plus bike you might as well get one with 2.8 tyres, I'd also prefer the Judy.
Historically Pinnacle have always been better value then Trek, but the Roscoe is a different beast.

I've had the Roscoe 8 for a year now and it's a great trail centre blaster and actually pretty quick up the hills for the weight of it. I was also worried about the rear freehub going on a long ride i've got coming up (Wales 360!) so swapped the wheel for a Hope 35W that was on offer at CRC which is spot on running 2.8 tyres.

The only issue is the rear is boost 141 qr so it limits you really to Hope for rear wheel upgrades (any excuse to get a Hope rear!)

The dropper works well and no issues so far.
