Looking at a trek remedy but need help on sizing please. I'm 5 11" . I'm thinking 18.5 ? . Also any real life reviews. Cheers boys
I’m 5’11 and rode 19.5 which, for me, was best fit. Wouldn’t want smaller in the reach (used a 50mm stem). 32” leg had a bikeyoke dropper 160mm with about 2 cm of post showing at full extension. Lovely bike though with a more down than up bias. Used to flip the Mino link settings quite frequently. Front end can wander a bit on tech climbs with the trade off for stable coming down. Rear suspension was faultless. Just sold it and bought a slash instead. Fancied a change to 29er. If I was going back to 27.5 I would buY a Remedy again.
5'11 - you'll need the 19.5 large.
Just bought one for my son - we hired one at BPW and he loved it. Sold my 575 and got a 2018 9.7 off Pinkbike. Pretty much what richwales says, although the lad seems to fly up hills on it. I think it's spot on 30lb, which would be my limit (my RM 29er is noticably lighter), but the suspension is superb - the Lyriks took a bit of tuning to get sorted (may benefit from the upgraded (Debonair?) damper). kid rides it like a demon - scares me (and himself) with the height he gets on jumps now. Real confidence boosting bike. Looks great too.
Had my Remedy 7 for about 6 months now and love it. Not ultra long, low or slack but, for me, that is part of its appeal giving a playful and poppy ride that still climbs well. Was worried about being over biked with 160/150 travel but it pedals incredibly well.
I'm 5ft 9" on a 18.5 and wouldn't want anything smaller - at your height I would consider a 19.5
Cheers boys was looking at the slash instead as I prefer 29ers but the yari fork puts me off . I'm running a yari at the moment and it's dead . So think I'll go remedy 19.5 . Reviews seem to add up as well
This review was pretty spot-on. https://www.mbr.co.uk/reviews/27-5-full-suspension-bikes/trek-remedy-9-7
(yeah, jr's has Yaris not Lyrik)
ps. we adjusted the MinoLink and managed to snap the bolt doing it to 17Nm. So hand tight is all that's needed! Not sure if my torque wrench mis-read because of the reverse thread, but 17Nm was stupidly over-tight.
“Not sure if my torque wrench mis-read because of the reverse thread”
I recently noticed that my torque wrench doesn’t work as a torque wrench on left hand threads, it never clicks!
Zip tie the Mino link bolts - as dez said they don’t need to be super tight but can work loose and are pricey to replace.
i'm 6ft and the 19.5 (large) was ok, at 5-11" the 19.5 should be good
trek recommend L for 5ft 9" to 6ft 2"

Phew, not just me then! I said, "stop, that's tight enough.." Bang! Luckily they're only about £9, but a quite lot in diesel when you are riding the next day 🙂
Its funny how things suit people different I had a Remedy 8 2017 27.5 never got on with the wheel size felt like I was sat in the bike more than being over the top of it and the pikes were shit got myself a slash 8 2020 which is great love the Yari fork after putting a thread up here while back about the forks I just think I am to use to 29ERs great bike.
I ride an 18.5 Fuel but if I got another it would be 19.5 I think.
5ft 11. 31.5 inseam.
18.5 is fun though. Had it 2 years nearly!
