As name suggests there is a bit of play at the lower shock mount everything is tight and i've taken the shock past the local bike shop to get them to change the DU bushing. What should i try next?

The DU bushing is meant to wear and that does results in play. I'd guess that'll be the problem.
Its worth looking at upgrade kits such from TF Tuned . Easy to fit.
it is definitely the bushing, bearings wear too?
either way, replace them, they are consumables.
If it is not the shock eyelet bushing ( which I very we'll could be ) it may be that the bearings in that lower linkage have gone and need replaced.
