are you using a sealant such as Stans or Bonty juice?

I have gone tubeless with my 2010 Fuel Ex 9. I use the Bonty Rim strips and Stans sealant. I used to use Bonty superjuice but it didn't work that well.I have used a number of tyres and they vary in how hard they are to inflate. I found Maxxis LUST easy but Specialized I've had variable results. I am using a track pump though.

What is the exact problem? Inflation?

Ive installed the Bonty Rim Strips, but just finding it incredibly difficult to mount my Nobby Nics properly... ive just taken them off another pair of Tubeless Bonty wheels so they should go on OK, they seem almost 'crooked'.
Dafoxster, what wheels are on yours, i want to be sure that the Bonty rim strips are supposed to go on the DTSwiss wheels...
Im using Wheel Milk as sealant, has done me proud over the years.

hmmm, could me being a numpty be the issue...there is already some none tubeless rim tape over the spoke holes. Should i remove this before putting the new tubeless rim strip on?

Mine are DT based Bontrager Elite wheels I believe. The existing rim tape was removed before the new rim strip was installed. Are you sure you have the rim strip the right way round? It is asymmetrical.

Not the DT wheels but I have gone tubeless on my Bonty wheels.

I needed the bonty valves and rim strips plus sealant. For tyres i'm using the 2011 Nobby Nics, I tried to use a 2010 Nobby Nics and totally failed to get it inflated. The 2011 are listed as tubeless ready and go up super easy.

I've gone tubeless with the Rhythm Elite's with the Bonty Rim Strip, Stans sealant and Bonty XR4 tyres. Inflated first time, no probs. Even the slow leaking of air went away after afew rides.

A few things to check: Do you have the correct rim strip? The Rhythm's need specific rim strips, from what I remember. At least, the one I ordered were specific for them. Secondly, from a previous tubeless set-up, I found the nobby nics had very porous sidewalls, and needed copious amounts of stans and shaking to get all the micro-holes in the sidewalls sealed. Hold the wheel on its side, tilted very slightly, with hands at 4 o'clock and 8 o'clock. Shake wheel from side to side and back to front. Rotate wheel by a hand width, repeat until back at start. Flip wheel over, and start again. After I'd done all that for the best part of an afternoon, the tyres disintegrated on the first ride at the first site of a semi-sharp rock. No plans to use Schwalbe again.

Second the 'porus sidewall Nobby Nic' point, one of mine was worse than the other- but it was pissing out all over the place!

Ho Hum, following an afternoon of plenty of swearing and tantrums...it seems that the wheels require their own particular rim strip. Bizarrely the rear wheel sealed fine with the Bonty rim strip, yet on the front wheel the bead would not seat where the valve sits...its as though the valves sits closer to one rim than the other. Why it only seems to affect the front wheel i dont know, but there you go. I'll have to try to find the correct DTSwiss rim strip i guess.

Try PedalOn or AllTerainCycles - they sorted me out previously

I found the bontrager rim strip as well as sealing the rim really helped the (very tight) tyre slide up to seat against the edge of the rim.

I just went tubeless on my 2011 trek Ex9 using the stock DT Swiss M1800 wheels the process was strait forward & simple.

Remove the existing light blue rim strip, replace with the Bonty Rim strip. Insert the new valve and I used the Nobby Nic Evo TL ready tires along with Stans sealant. Had no problems and it works a treat I love it
