Morning all,

What's the sizing like for these please? Specifically at 5'11 the 18.5 is in order according to Trek. How do people find them?
Last new (to me) bike was a 2013 T129 in large which was a lovely ride if not a little barge like at times.
Thanks

I’m on my second one now, I’m 173cm (5 foot 8 and a half). First one was a 17.5 and second one is 18.5. Prefer the bigger size.
Sizing is so personal, I prefer a 17.5 in my hardtail but a bigger full sus.

I’m a smidge over 6’ tall and had an EX9 in 19.5” (until some s*ites stole it last month).  I used the bike with 40mm stem/800 bars and 50mm stem/780 bars combinations and both worked well and were comfortable size wise.  I tried an 18.5” but it felt quite short and upright when sat. I think Trek have increased the reach for 2020, but I think the effective top tube length is the same as last year.

Great, think will aim for an 18.5 and in the meantime try to find some spare time to try one in a shop.
While I'm at it what is the rear clearance like please? The lack of this made it a killer on the T129 at times during the wet months.

I’ve got the 2019 version, just noticed geometry has slightly changed for 2020.
The below link says clearance for 2.6 tyres.

178 cm here and I'm on the 18.5, I would say it's perfect but I could easily ride the 19.5

6ft riding a 19.5. i'm sat looking at a 2019 18.5 we have in the sale  and it's a tad too short for me. the Trek size quide is pretty good these days

While I’m at it what is the rear clearance like please?

it'll take a 2.5"

The 2020 fuel comes with 2.6 tyres fitted . They aren't massive , unless you have short legs you may be better on a large but as ever nothing like sitting on one first .

Thanks for the replies, good to know what the clearance is like and get more of idea about size. I maybe able to get to an LBS on Thursday but shifts are all over the show.
