Hello all,
I'm after a few thoughts and views on the Tre Fuel 5.5 2008. Currently I have a Rockhopper but considering changing to a Full Sus bike. I will be doing a mixture of riding but mainly XC and some down hill.
I have the oportunity to buy a 2008 Trek Fuel EX 5.5 but don't know a lot about the bike as I am fairly new to MTB.
If anyone has any experience or view on this bike as a good all rounder I would appreciate it. Also what sort of price should I look to pay for this bike in Very good condition.
Your advice is appreciated.
Thanks
Matt
Its the older style 'faux bar' rather than the newer ABP design, but I have the 2007 Fuel Ex 9.0 with the same design and its fine. Someone will be along to tell you how its dated, but there are loads and loads of rocker activated single pivots and normal single pivots still being sold so they can't be that bad. I like mine.
Probably a bit heavy in stock form but the more expensive versions with the same frame were quite light, so its a good base for upgrading.
If its in good condition you should probably pay no more than half the original price. So as full price was £900, no more than £450?
i might be selling a 2006 fuel ex8, bought it for my wife and she has only used it about 6 times it looks brand new still. 18.5 inch frame and i want about £600ono
Thanks for the info people. I missed out on the bikw in the end.
Thanks for the offer Swiss but i think 18.5 inch may be a little big for my needs. Cheers anyway.
