You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
I've been offered a very lightly used Trek Farley 6 for a very good price. Is it much of an upgrade over my current On-One Fatty? The Fatty has carbon forks and I've drilled the rims and put in Spesh DH tubes, and some better handlebars, otherwise its the standard build.
Haven't found any frame details to compare reach or head angle - the Fatty works just fine for my riding, I believe the Farley is 'trail' geometry too so assume not much difference.
Whats the widest tyres that will fit the Farley as it only comes with 3.8s?
If I sold the Fatty this would probably cost me about £300, just wondering if its worth the swap.
I rode a 6 at cyb for two days on hire and then bought an oo fatty off the back of it. Mine has carbon forks, drilled rims, carbon bars etc and honestly there is no difference. It is definitely not worth the 300 pounds "upgrade" imo.
Probably a bit lighter, but since when has that mattered on a fat bike really? Probably higher resell on a trek as more "normal" people have heard of trek
My oo is lighter than a standard trek Farley 6 but of course you could do all the mods and get the trek a bit lighter as most have done with the oo.
