Does anyone make an aftermarket rack similar to the Trek 1120? I still fancy the idea of a bar bag, but my experiment with the cheapo PlanetX one caused the dropper post cable outer to wear significantly, (one ride!) and I don't like the way they rest on and distort the brake lines and potentially wear off paint with the stem strap.

Closest I've found is a cheapy alloy thing off ebay/amazon, that mounts to brake bosses: One of these:
Bodged to fit on the rear stays using seatstay brackets from some Smart Lights rear LEDs.
Basically a rack that fits at the front, to the fork crown, and uses the mid-fork bosses would be ideal, about the shape of the Trek rack... Anyone?

Yeah, that one that thepodge linked isn't really the right shape for a roll shaped bag. And does it attach to the head tube? Insufficient room room on modern MTB's the way the tube ends flare out for big weld area, and of course it wouldn't rotate with the handlebars. I'll have a look at the other bazillion-1 variations though 🙂 Ta.
I'm using the same thing as @keithb but attached with p-clips and massive zip ties, the best I could describe it as is a bodge.
The Trek one attaches to what looks like specialist fork bridge mounts.
There are some ideal looking racks on thepodge 's link, but they all seem to attach at the dropout, and really only serious touring forks seem to have mounts there, but loads of lighter road/gravel/adventure forks have mid-fork bosses.

Suspension forks, so a brace down there ain't going to work! I maybe should have mentioned that as the Trek is rigid. My bad.
There are a few racks like this. They end up as unsprung weight, so not ideal, but they work…
Or these. But then you may as well just get a Klickfix bag (or use their adapter plate to modify a common or garden bag to be compatible).

Like @tthew I don't really like the way most bar bags rest on MTB brake hoses and gear cables so am considering one of these.
People keep banging on Podsacs barbag harnesses, and yet here's mine this morning, two and a half years of trouble free use, just doing its job (with an Ortlieb drybag on this trip). User error?

Well I don't think so, I looked at various YouTube and other info on how to fit them. Could be brake lever position affecting how it sits on the hoses, or maybe your just a bit less concerned than me about having it on your hoses.
Anyhoo, I reckon I have a good idea about what I want, and might get some stainless tube and a pipe bender and have a crack myself.
