As some insurance companies are rather vague on their wording and what they'll cover i.e mountain biking or downhill mountain biking which is in a different category, I'm after an annual policy that will cover the PPDS.
Although your a numbered rider is it classed as a race? Should something happen I don't want the insurance company trying to wriggle out on some sort of technicality.
Thanks.
Its definitely not a race, no timing no gates. Worth checking but I think insurance is included with entry
I don't know about annual policies, but Dogtag is very clear on what it does and doesn't cover and are designed for "extreme sports" holidays.
I personally wouldn't call it a race, there's no winner, no timings, I guess Roadies would call it a Sportive or something in Kitchen French.
Anyway, one thing to consider, last time I took part (2013 I think) event entry included accident/ injury insurance for the day of the event.
Thanks, we will be riding days either side of the event so just wanted some decent insurance cover.
IIRC, you are covered for the day of the event as its included as part of the registration fee. One of our party was helicoptered off the hillside on the day of the event and he didn't have to use/produce his own insurance for that
For the other days, IMO its not really worth trying to save a few quid. I opted for Dogtag's extreme sports cover and for a week, worked out at about £70 and after speaking to them (Dogtag) that was their advice based on the description of activities I explained I'd be doing
