A friend is visiting her son in Canada shortly. She has been trying to get travel insurance to include MTB riding. This would be mainly just offroad riding with a green trail maybe. Can anyone recommend an insurance company that would cover s level of activity without spending the hundreds of pounds she has been quoted?
When we visited a few years back, I used Virgin holiday insurance. Just had to do an add on for 'extreme activities' from what I can remember. Wasn't too much more at all.
We've just come back from a riding trip in Canada - we used Yellow Jersey, they were the cheapest I could find.
But for the riding you describe I'd be looking at "normal" policies. Our Nationwide account gives us travel insurance which includes some sports, but we take out additional cover for MTB as no one at Nationwide could give us specifics about where they draw the line on what the cover / what they don't.
