Heading to Whistler next year (yay!)
Any recommendations for sensibly priced insurance covering MTBing (not racing) with decent customer service in case I actually need helicoptered off A Line?
Cheers

I used Dogtag when I went to Morzine in the Summer. Not the cheapest but included Hele-rescue and a heap of other things ( plus you get a free buff )
Have a look at Yellow Jersey, used them for the last couple of years after both Snowcard and Dogtag got very expensive for annual family insurance.
Yeah I second yellow jersey. I had a big crash in whistler this year paid out within 5 days of sending the paperwork. If you put a quick search in google you can generally find a 10% off code pretty quickly as well.
I wouldn't use these for annual insurance as they are very expensive for that, but one off trips I've used Snowcard before. Also myself I need annual insurance to cover up to a month in days of skiing, and allow off-piste without needing a guide.
Generally forget about normal travel insurance. Most have exclusions on MTB or are vague about stuff like in mine "no extreme terrain". I've used it though with less gnar trips.
When I've used Snowcard I just configured it to cover smashing myself up on the bike, and the bike. I dialled down the luggage etc cover as that's on my general travel insurance. Though Snowcard still only went to £3k on the bike.
Snowcard paid out quickly for me when had to cancel a trip and sorted out a mate well when he got busted up a Pila. Have fun.
