Thoughts, yes I love it.
It managed the last PMBA enduro at Grizedale very well, great local trails bike, think i'll have it for a long time.

Different bars and chainring since this photo. 150 revs on at the moment, still deciding if I want to go Pike, Fox34 or other.

Looking good darren!

I'm in Hong Kong, so availability may be different. But if they've gone, that's that.

A quick look online shows a few places have stock of certain sizes.

I've had mine for three weeks now and I love it. It is without doubt the best suited bike I have ever ridden.
It is also the first 'off the peg' bike I have bought since 1997 so a real leap of faith for me.
I have come from a 2012 Covert. The Scout is more efficient so I get a greater payback from the bike when I can ride (young family), the bike feels lighter than it is which encourages horseplay. The nu skool geometry suits me well. My Covert was a medium, perfect in height but I had to run a 70mm stem on it to make it a comfy trail bike not getting the best out of it in terms of handling. I have the Scout in large and it fits like a glove out of the box. I got HR II's fitted from new.
The rear bobs a bit when stood up and when sat and spinning at low power. Once you start to really push hard in the saddle this settles down with nearly no bob at all.
I got the yellow with build kit 1.

@Jef - how tall are you?

I'd struggle to decide on sizing. I'm 5'11" and my heart says a medium, but I know a large would probably be more sensible. I'm currently on a medium Covert too, but seem happy with a 50mm stem on there.

loving mine, equally good doing 30+ miles or just bombing around Stainburn.
I am just over 5'10" and have a large, with a 40mm stem. and inline dropper post.
I have the standard kit, but now got hope cranks, and Renthal Bar and stem.

Really feel confident on it, and tackle technical or jumpy trails with the same confidence I had on bigger travel bikes.

Now just under 30lbs, but it climbs really efficiently, mainly due to the forward seated position and the horst link.

Been having no problems keeping up on downhill with mates on the 160mm travel enduro bikes.

Large and medium are sold out in the uk, one or two left in a few shops thats all.

considering it took them until January to deliver the 2015 models, I hate to think how soon the 2016 range will be available. November?

I am 5'11". I ran a 50mm stem on the Covert for bigger days out but for general trail use found the 70mm more comfortable. Do try the large. Mine felt big for about a minute and now feels right. I feel I can move my considerable weight around the bike easier as there is more of it.

Sizing a bit difficult. Im 6'2 so right in between L and XL. Looked at the reach on a XL and thought it was too much so went with large, 150mm reverb and a 50mm stem.

Just to be a bit clearer about availability for the rest of the year, they are NOT all sold out!

There are no more Large or XL available for shops to order, but shops may still have stock. We have a couple of larges left, but no XL for example. Other people may have XLs, we don't know 🙂

Medium and Small are still available to order, but are running out fast. Just don't be put off by people saying they are all sold out, they aren't.

Haha, sorry Mr Pink 😀

Daveh - we are mechanics not web developers, my wordpress foo is weak and the stock control on the website is not accurate.

At the moment we have one of each colour in Large, and one medium Lime, with more medium Blacks on the way.

If a shop has one then that is all there is.
No stock at the importers and Darren is right.

But its good to see the magazines have some to write about. 😉

The Covert had quite a short reach. Transition are using longer reach on their newer frames. So if a medium Covert was slightly short, I'd say a medium on the newer frames would be correct as they'll be a bit longer.

That's all good stuff, thanks very much.

I'm Sancho's size, and was wondering whether I wanted a Large. Sounds like that might be right. I shall try and run one down in Hong Kong...

🙂

Not sure its that simple. I sized up perfectly on a large Bandit and a medium Covert. The Scout has a little longer reach with a 45mm stem compared to the 70mm I had on my Covert but the seat tube on the large Scout is similar to an older medium.

I tried a medium and could have got on with it, but I felt on longer rides it would have been a bit cramped.
I felt a little perched on top of it and didnt feel I was stretched out enough.
The Large is odd because of the steep seat post, it doesnt lay back in the same way as the older Covert.
with a medium covert with the saddle up then I found I had enough reach.

No large Smugglers at all - a couple more Mediums arriving in the next few weeks and that's it. Just about to build a medium for myself once these new 34's arrive 😀

Sweet. I'd want to go XFusion rough cut (so no rush!) but am not sure my ocd could cope without a murdered out fork! Reckon it'll be a 2016 project anyway.

I am just over 5'10" and sit right in the middle of the Transition sizing chart.
But I rode the medium and thought yeah its ok, I can get on with this.
then got on the large and just felt at home. A bit more open in the body and still very nimble.

Ask me any questions if you like, I had a 26'er Scout a couple of years ago

[img] [/img]

Only kidding but it does remind me of the Enduro... 😀 The large Scout that I tried came up quite long for my tastes (6ft2)

If youre 6'2" what do you consider suitable?

Do you have a long leg short reach body?

I think I am short legged for my height.

I'm short legged for my height. I'm 33inside leg. I'm on a medium Meta AM V4 and the reach is spot on for me.

Hong Kong distributor confirms there are very few 2015 bikes left. 2016 models due in August however.
