Quick one hopefully.

Looking at moving all my kit off a 2017 Orange P7 onto a Scout Carbon 2017 frame.

In theory I think everything bar the headset and rear brake mount should work - maybe need a shim to run a 30.9 post.

I do have hope brakes with braided hoses though and assume to rear here is internally routed? Anyone know if that will cause fitting issues or if there are any other issues have not considered?

Will be moving over:

GX Eagle, hope threaded B.B., Pike Boost 140, stealth brand x dropper in 30.9 (scout has a 31.6 tube), X2 brakes with braided hoses, wheels non boost rear and boost Front (which match the scout).

Also anyone know if the Blood Orange is just about red? Looks that way in the pics.

Brake and gear routing is internal to bottom bracket. Nice and easy. You may need to cut the olive off to get the brake hose in, so have what you need spare.

They claim full internal routing for the dropper, but they lie.  It exits internally and has to make a sharp turn to get into the seat tube.  It's near impossible to freehand.  I eventually tied a small screw to some floss, ran it down and used gravity to get it out the seat tube.  Then pulled the inner and fed the outer.  Five minutes work after a period of extreme frustration.

Blood Orange is a very bright red.

It's a great bike, it feels fast everywhere.  Don't do what I did though and win yourself a trip to A&E followed by surgery and plaster cast on round about your fifth ride.

I have a 2017 Scout and love it - the internal routing is pants though. Initially mine rattled like a bastard so I wrapped if in the fluffy side of velcro and used some small zip ties (un cut) inside a springs which seems to have worked. The brake cable / dropper entrance by the head tube is a tad snug.

I didn't have any issues with the dropper routing.

The best thing I did was sell the shitty Monarch and replace it with a coil shock. I think it works better with a 150mm fork than the 140mm.

Scout's are lovely bikes. I have a 2015 and I am still excited to ride it each time.

My Scout came with a handy cable / hose routing guide with the frame. In my experience Transition are really good at email response for support. I reckon if you send them an email they would provide the cable route guide pdf.

Cheers all much appreciated! Sounds like you all love the bike.

So if head tube entry for cables is tight do you think a braided hose could be an issue? Although suppose easy enough to hangs to a normal hose if necessary.

ill prob get my lbs to build it tbh as I’m crap at most remotely technical building!

Carbon Scouts have internal routing tubes I believe which makes life easier and stops the rattling. Some good bargains out there. I was going to press the button but then was offered a T130 carbon frame pretty much brand new for silly money... However, really like transitions these days... my smuggler is fantastic.

The carbon bikes have a full tube lining for the cables - apart from where the dropper cable enters the seat tube.

From experience with my bike, my advice would be:

1. Insert the brake hose from the calliper end.  The entry point for the hose is near the bottom of the downtube - near the BB.  At all times keep the calliper lower than the open end of the hose!  Fluid doesn’t flow upwards!

2. With the dropper route the inner first - that made it easier for me.  Then thread the outer over the inner.

3.  Pick up some foam or rubber sleeves from Decathlon or similar.  Put those on the hoses and cables as you insert them.  Your paint will welcome them and they will make less noise against the outside of the tube.
