Looks like a scout with a fat down tube. Glad i don't want an ebike at the moment or my wallet would be unhappy

I'm out because of the headset.

And also because I'd rather buy a Ducati Scrambler and have 5 grand left over. But mostly because of that headset.

It's pretty much a sentinel with the longer shock stroke and a motor, so should be a good bike, i'd love one to replace the current ebike when it fails, but reality is, this bike is coming in at 8k for the NX, just substitute $ for £ and you've got the price list.

Sadly that's a bit too much for me, it's an ebike so not really bothered about carbon frames, plus they've gone with Shimano for the motor, and we all know the joys about repairs for those!

Known about this for a while

Ive had a few Transitions before (Scout, Patrol & TR500)

Would love a Transition e-mtb but disapointed they went with the rattley Shimano motor and battery

As it goes they're all pretty rattly.

Whiny too.

"As it goes they’re all pretty rattly."

I haven't watched that video but I know my Levo is the quietest bike I've ever owned downhill and uphill the motor makes little more than a gentle "whirrrr".

I don't understand why a company based near the north west coast of North America would use a headset like that - just asking for bearing failures! I understand if it was Yeti or Santa Cruz but Transition?!

My Levo's Brose motor makes no rattly noise when dropping the rear end unlike any bike with the Shimano motor

Even the Levo's Brose motor whine is minimal (my gen 1 levo was near silent!) when out with friends on their Bosch and Shimano bikes all we can hear is their motors not mine

What he also said in the vid when you get to watch it, is much of the time you are tuned into concentration and dont really hear what it sounds like, and also the mic was placed right next to the motor, which obviously highlights it more.

I'm a musician and audio equipment designer (who's used musician's ear plugs in loud situations throughout my career so my hearing is still good) - if it make a sound I'll hear it. I'll probably be able to tell you the dominant frequency bands and decibel levels too, with a fair degree of precision.

Brose tend to be really quiet, mainly due to their failure rate 😂

That video made me laugh: Every time the wheels left the ground it went into slo-mo. Dunno why, just found it funny.

Whoever came up with that headset design needs to be banned creating anything else!

It doesn't bring anything revolutionary to the table, no geometry adjustment and fixed rear wheel size.

Was surprised they'd go down the lightweight route, given the comments in the video that some of the transition lot didn't really buy into heavy ebikes, seems that specialized and orbea are the only ones brave enough.

Reality is that they know the future is electric for bikes as well as cars, they needed one and probably need to put some serious effort into the next one.

As for the headset, it is the new in thing, too many cables, the standard headset was crap anyway for bearings needing replaced, same as most zero stack headsets I’ve seen and used

Its not even lightweight, according to Transition's website the AXS and GX versions come in at 22.3kg and then 23.1kg for the NX version

The 2022 Levo comes in at 22.04 for the S-works

Think my 2020 Levo expert weighed in at 22.5kg before upgrades

Wonder how many Shimano motors will be returned due to the motor's spindle issue

I know the Brose had issues with the sprag clutch bearing
