Anyone ride/ridden one of these?

I quite fancy one for my first full bouncer, having only owned hard tails for a number of years I have an urge to starting to compete in Gravity Enduro events and do the Mega next year.

They only get a 3* from BikeRadar review, but not too sure how accurate those types of marketing reviews actually are. At the moment I'm only going on looks, as I've not test ridden anything yet, but I'd like something that can climb ok, but is really all about pointing it downhill which Transition seems to say the Covert was designed for.

I would say it's spot on for yor needs.

Now and then I think I need to go back to a more "normal" trail bike as I struggle to keep up with fitter riders who are almost always on lighter bikes but i think that says more about me than the bike.

I always hit a section wherever I'm riding where I think "no way am I swapping this!" as it's so much fun. I have clearance for a new frame this year but may spend the funds on some lightweight bling (not sure where I can lose weight though!)

HTH

3*? What a crock. I have had one since 2011 and its awesome, all day rides, dh duties, general thrashing, it does the lot. Lovely lovely bike.

I have ridden one for 3+ years. Cant fault it.

I ride it all round the Chilterns (where its a bit overkill, but still fine keeping up with my XC mates). Ive taken it to trail centers, where its flipping brilliant and done events like CyB enduro, Bristol Bike fest. Taken it to the Alps a few times - where its in its element. Love messing about at Chicksands / Woburn with it.

Its not a DH bike and its not a XC bike - its right in the middle. Dosent do anything wrong, suits my riding perfectly. I did change the shock for a CCDB. The original just didnt do it for me - I had to pump way too much air in it. But thats due to my weight and style, not the bike.

Rides up hill very very well, better than a lot of bikes.

Push hill cycles do demos I think, or if your near Oxford you could have a go on mine.

Ive got a frame for sale if your intersted in building one up.

@Trimix - might be interested in the frame if it's the right size, I'm after a medium.

As Trimix said I have to put loads of air in my shock to avoid it blowing through the travel - wonder if a small volume can would sort it? Can't afford a CCDB

A small volume can does indeed sort it. Or pack the can with plastic strips to reduce the volume.

toys19- your right, but I only needed a small excuse to bling my bike with some CCDB shinyness 🙂

Im sure it made me ride faster as well 🙂

defo faster. F.A.C.T.
Actually I used the RP23 with a smaller can for a while which was ok. Now I ride mine with a van RC coil, which suits me better as I am fat knacker and land like a baby elephant skydiving without a parachute..
