So the stock Fox CTD isn't great, even with the volume spacer. Anyone on either a Cane Creek Inline, DB Air or Rockshox Monarch Plus?
An indication of riding style would be good too- mine will be thrown off jumps and drops (nothing huge, 5ft max?)

Large 2012 29er with Fox RP23 Kashima shock.
No issues and performs well

I have a buddy on a CCDB Air von his Bandit. He gushes about how good it is. I would expect it to be good as it costs a small fortune.
I think the bandit (and the covert, which I have) can blow through travel easily on the normal sag setting (you notice it less on the covert because of the extra 30mm of travel). However, I 'think' they both require a slightly weight forward riding position (compared to some other geom. frames). I also feel that, to one degree or another, that a new shock doesn't cure but just masks the symptom. The cure for me was to ride the bike with more of my weight on the bars. This cured my shitty DH hairpin riding and increased my berm speed significantly. (Thanks to Tom Dowie coaching). Now I don't feel I need the shock upgrade.
On the other hand, you may well be on the next level up, you already have the correct technique and are pushing the shock to its limit WITH the correct technique. I don't know you and don't know your skill level.
Good luck with whatever option you go with.
Same as fatgit, RP23, does everything it should do. Just had a pricy service though.
RP23 with a volume spacer in (installed by previous owner). a couple of rides in and it feels fine to me.
Standard Rp23 or the CTD/Kashima effort guys?
Kashima RP23, volume spacer & it's fine for me in my 650b. Missus' one is the same.
My old 23" has a non kashima rp23, that was much better with the volume spacer in it too.
Hi
Mine isn't CTD

Kashima but no CTD.
Kashima rp23 boost valve .
I'm running the standard Kashima Float CTD on my 26" Bandit.
Never really had a problem with it, I only ever run it in Trail mode mind, except for a quick flick to Climb for long fireroads.
