Anyone got any opinions on one of these?

Looking for a nice light 120-130mm full susser for my missus, who currently rides her pitch for everything.

would like to get her something with a similar geometry (but shorter travel), since she didn't get on with her SC Juliana (too short in the TT i think).

Struggling to find anywhere local which has one she can try - Roylan's in Cheltenham is a giant dealer, but they don't stock any of the 'performance' bikes, just the low priced family stuff.

Oh, and I've seen "Trance X Advanced" and "Trance X Advanced SL" used almost interchangeably... are they the same, or different frames?

Cheers,
Dave

I think I can answer the last question myself - it looks like the SL is full carbon, and the non-SL is carbon front triangle, alu rear.

Am building up a regular Trance X frame myself. Can not really help much on specifics, but you should check out mtbr dot com, which has an excellent giant area on its forum. Probably biased, but I am sure there will be people who can assist there.

Not tried one myself but if Bristol isn't too far it might be worth ringing the Giant store here (they're in Bradley Stoke, close to the M4/M5 junction). They have a few demo bikes in the shop (pretty sure they have a Trance X but it won't be the Advanced, not been in the shop for a while though), I'm guessing they've got as good a chance as any dealer about arranging a demo on an Advanced.

cheers guys... I have heard good things in general about the trance x. If the advanced is just a lighter version, then even better 🙂

I'll check out that bristol store; cheers. I take it they are like the spesh concept stores?

Re the Advanced and Advanced SL question; assuming it's like their road range and to some extent the XTC range it goes something like this:
Composite - models are the entry level Carbon frames but still very good
Advanced - I think uses Toray's T800 carbon, this I believe is the highest grade that Giant make for other brands.
Advanced SL - a higher grade of carbon, if you believe the marketing, lighter, stronger atc

I've ever ridden a trance so can't comment on that model

@alfabus - yeah only Giant bikes inside (although various brands of clothing/accessories), decent bunch of lads in there to.
