Going to stay with some friends just outside of Wrexham. Been to Llandegla a couple of times and think it's OK but prefer more natural/technical stuff. Anything with in an hours drive that is worth checking out?

Plenty, 3 peaks, horsehoe pass, minera-worlds end (the other side of the valley if you look left from the main fireroad climb in Llandegla), Panorama, clwyds, snowdonia range, capel curig etc etc
