People,

Going to be staying in a hotel somewhere close (not sure where yet) for a meeting at Lemington Football Club. Are there any good places to ride within a small radius? Needs to ideally be waymarked routes (trail centre etc) easy parking and easy to find!

Might take the bike for a swift pedal on the Monday night when I get there!

TIA

Do you mean Leamington?

If so, your nearest waymarked trails are Woburn or Cannock.

Slop-central round here at the moment.

If you want to fall down a steep muddy hill then struggle to get traction to push back up again, then Edgehill is about 25 mins drive.

Did I say it's slop at the moment?

Good little tarmac pump track at Bishops Tachbrook.

I did mean Leamington!
I was wondering about around Edgehill, as I'm considering The Castle as my hotel...

Thanks for input

There are some trails on top of Edgehill.

If you head away from The Castle, towards Gaydon, you'll see a layby on the right hand side of the road, just before the right turn to Ratley and before you descend off the hill. Opposite the layby there's woodland.

There are a few different routes in and around that area. Have a look on your favourite MTB trails app'

Trouble with Edgehill is it's very steep, but very short, and very slippery mud. Its a fun little blast down for under a minute, but can be a real pita pushing back up.

There are some loops around the bridleways but you'd need to get your os map out.

I used to do one all along the Ridge, through sugarswell, over shenington airfield, out onto the Banbury road, across the way and descend into Hornton, out of Hornton and over into Ratley, then back up to Edgehill. Mud plus mud.

I worked near Leam for a while and whilst the road riding is good fun, the MTB is pretty average I’m afraid.
