Hi,

I am staying in Anglesey this weekend, thinking of swinging out for a morning ride or popping in somewhere on my way past back to the midlands.

Looking for advice as to where to ride - I don't want a uplift centre, looking for singletrack red trails like Afan or Coed Brenin - I've been looking at Penmancho or Betws y Coed - anyone have advice as to which I should choose?

Cheers.

I'm on Anglesey. There is nothing on the island like the stuff in snowdonia. If you are bringing a long travel bike then go home via Llnarwst and do the marin trail - the car park is 2mins off the main road.

If you have a gravel bike or similar then there is miles and miles of small backroads on the island and you can link them up to make a route from anywhere. Newborogh forest, penmon point, copper mountain, all worth riding to but its more road than off road. Depends where you are staying.

I would second riding the back roads on Anglesey I have spent quite a few happy hours doing this.

Either Penmachno or the Marin trail are good fun for a few hours if you don't fancy road riding.

On the island itself, Pentreath is an option if you're nearby. A few fun lines and parts worth sessioning. Woodwork removed by NRW, but trails still fun. As above, for more than an hour playing around, head back to the mainland.
