Driving down to Basingstoke from the North East on Sunday with work and hoping to break up the drive with a few hours on the bike. Anyone know of any good XC/AM trails/trail centres on that sort of route? I'll be heading down A1(M) then M1. Somewhere with a bike wash would be an added bonus as I'll be going to a hotel after...

Divert off down the A19 to the NY moors.
Or off the M1 at Sheffield for the Dark Peak.
Swinley Forest when you're down there.
That's most of the eastern half of the country, take your pick!
Swinley Forest, 5 minutes off the M3 and half an hour shy of Basingstoke.
