You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
I'm moving to Chichester next month and was wondering if anyone knows of any local trails? I've had a look and the closest proper trailer centre seems to be Swinley forest. Any hidden gems around the area? Mainly ride enduro technical stuff.
You've got Queen Elizabeth Country Park not far away. There also some riding around Kingley Vale and up to the South Downs Way
QECP is much nearer than Swinley. There are some nice bridleways off the South Downs, some are quite gnarly in places, you gotta peruse the OS map to find the good ones.
Also Kingley Vale has some little purpose built downhill tracks.
Oh and - "https://www.facebook.com/rogatedownhill/"
There’s some really nice riding round Kingley Vale & across the Downs to QECP.
QECP for the win:
Stoughton Down has a small MTB track that leads up to Kingly Vale. It ain’t big, but it’s local and technical.
Plenty of Open Downs riding along Bridleways and Drover roads, a few head back towards Up Marden and outer lying villages.
Lovely part of the world.
And obvz, QECP as mentioned.
As already said QECP is the nearest trail area
2 official trails (blue & red) lots of unofficial trails which are great fun, in and just outside of the park if you know where to look
Kingley vale also has the Stoughton downhill runs of various difficulty
Rogate Downhill is an official B1ke park and not too far from QECP
Lots of trails on the downs, go explore!!!!
Little further up and you hit Liss forest just by Longmoor army base just don't ignore the red flags!!!!

Can't imagine driving all the way to Swinley from Chichester just to ride, even the Surrey Hills have to be closer
Most of the trails have been listed above apart from a Whiteways. Nothing much, but a really nice loop about 15mins away. The Riders Guild do a shop ride every other Thursday at either Whiteways or QECP.
Peaslake in the Surrey hills is 1 hr away. A group of us regularly do a uplift day to Windhill, BPW or FoD that you would be welcome to join.
Awesome! Cheers guys this is just what I needed to hear! Nice to have a few bike parks within an hour and a few on the door steps for weekly pedals!
Wasn’t there a Kingly Vale MTB club ???
Try FB, sure there is a group of lads who ride together..
There’s loads of great trails over towards whiteways. If you head over towards the Hilton Avisford park hotel near walberton and go north through rewell wood to whiteways there’s plenty to keep you entertained for hours.
There is also the South Downs Mountain Bike Club - we meet on Wednesdays at Walderton, Fridays at a pub very near QECP and have a random ride on Sundays. It is for old slow riders like me. They rarely stop for cake or coffee and are very happy to have new riders of all standards - they took me in when I was a beginner and made me feel welcome (though they still laugh at me!)
Whiteways is often on the Sunday hitlist and it is an easy ride-out from Chichester.
