Does one exist - for up to 3 bikes
Just curious at the minute
Don't know about being towed by bike, but I ended up making my own, up to 5 bikes for a car.
Ive never seen one but I reckon something could be adapted. But bear in mind how heavy 3 bikes could be, or even 2. I used to tow my 20kg dog in a proper bike trailer and it was pretty hard work. Steep hills were no fun at all!
I’d be looking at using 3 roof rack mounts, fitted to a couple of cross bars and then bolted to a cargo trailer.
Second hand Burley, three Thule 591's and some bolts. Job jobbed.
I think I could get 2 bikes on my Carry Freedom Y frame if I used a roofrack bike carrier - the kind that holds the bike upright.
3 bikes might be tricky because of the width.
Can echo what Kormoran says about weight, I've carried a kayak plus gear and camping kit, it did not want to go up hills and the brakes didn't do much coming down them.
If you had a semi-decent eBike with bigger brakes it might make things a bit easier.
Actually, i you had enough money you could probably buy one of the electric last mile cargo trucks that are electric pedal assist and have a flat bed.
Edit: Just found a picture of one...

FWIW I occasionally mount bikes upside down to my coho xc. With wheels on, the high center of mass can make handling iffy - to the extent that you can feel the bike frame flexing under you. I'd want a way of carrying them as close to the ground as possible.
I've seen them in London. Long trailer with loads of bikes on, pulled by an e cargo bike usually. Looks like it's something used for bikeability or bike hire. Looked more custom made though
Surly make a trailer which looks cool but it's not cheap
I can 'bag and drag' another bike on my cargo bike. Could probably do two if I strap them right. It's helpful to be able to take a child out and know I can keep going if they get tired. They just jump on the back too
Local bike hire scheme have a big trailer towed by an ebike, that can move 5 ebikes at a time (i think) so that they can relocate the bikes overnight, stop them from getting pooled up by the uni
Of course, the bikes already have wheels, so really could you use a trailer that carries the front wheels of the bikes, and the rear wheel follows behind?
There's a guy in Munich who rides around collecting/delivering bikes to be repaired in his workshop. Holds at least three.
Not sure if it's from the same guy, also from Munich, who developed a trailer that'll take a europallet. I'll have a look for the video.
Also, look up Carla Cargo. Three wheeler with a motor driven front wheel. Can be detached and driven manually.
They're not the same trailers, but this is the second guy I mean....
This is what the first guy I referred to rides around with.
Various platforms.
I've seen an ebike rental company somewhere with exaclty this, a big ebike and trailer to collect the other ebikes.
Where did I see it?
Bakkie cycles make a pannier that you can use to bag and drag. One each side gives you 2 bikes. Pannier on one of those to make a train?
You may be able to fashion your own version. A bit like a smaller version of the original xtracycle bags
