Following a series of tumbles and prior to a Dyfi trip, in really need to get my son some knee pads.

He's 12, slim, 150cmish, and the seemingly crucial '10cm above the knee' circumference ' is about 28cm.

He's got some xs POC elbow overs but they're still a bit too big. I suspect the POCito knees may be the next choice, but the open back with straps design screams rubbing to me.

Anyone got anything on their kids they can recommend? Need to be able to cope with bike park use but also general trail riding. I've heard the Fox ones are a sweatfest.

Pre-teen here been happy with both Endura Singletrack (older version, new ones look different) and Troy Lee Speed Sleeve use. Both on the lighter side so perhaps not enough for bike park use depending on how crash prone you are, but for general trail riding he's been very happy.

Had this with both of my boys as well and they both used 7idp pads. They have a decent selection and good prices also. I still use them now.

My lad was pretty lightweight at that age and had G-Form pads that worked well.

Think someone said the other day there was G-form stuff on sportpursuit.

ION make a few different knee pad options that go down to XS in adult sizes that worked with my lad (who is also 12, 150cm and slim). We went for a sleeve which is super comfy.
