Any experiences of either Tracs (Delamere) or Twelve20 (Frodsham) for servicing / repairs. Good value for money? Or am i better off heading into Chester?

Twelve20 are the discount brand of Twelve50 right? 😉
Twelve50 built me up a bike a few years ago, decent shop, friendly and knowledgeable, good customer service. I'd see no reason to go to Chester. If you're local they do shop rides and such like as well.
I know Tracs have helped out my riding buddies in the past when we've had problems in the forest and sold me the worlds most expensive XT mech once, (not complaining, mine had just lunched itself spectacularly, always the most pricey way to buy) but I can't vouch for their work personally.

edit - depending where you are exactly, G&B Accessories on Castle in Northwich are always busy with repairs, with decent bikes in the stands. That'd be another option.

Twelve50 seem like a good setup, bought some stuff from them over Xmas and they've done a few wheel repairs for me. Nothing more than that though.

Tracs always seem a bit overly grumpy (though last time I was in there, this weekend actually, they bucked that trend somewhat). Not used their repairs service though.

G&B are a car parts and accessories shop traditionally, but expanded into bikes a few years ago. Seemed a bit down market at first, but they have some quite nice kit in there now along side the more basic functional stuff. The look of the place is a bit chaotic, but it's where I'd go first if I didn't do my own maintenance as Frodsham is a van ride away.

Well i spoke to Twelve50 and they gave me a price over the phone, whereas G&B refused to quote and just wanted me to bring it in first.

So Twelve50 it is then!
