Hi,

Those little screws in my frame have become stuck and so now I can't tension my chain properly. Are there any tips for how this could be fixed? How can I loosen the screws for example?

Many thanks

Chris

I have a simple where the screw bent slightly and i was really tough to get out, just had to use brute force to get it out.
Look up chain tugs and get some, they should stop you needing the screws

So the chain tugs would have to replace the screws?

What's the best way to get them out then because brute force is difficult on the 3mm (or even 2.5mm) allen key fitting.

Cheers

Depends on how much screw you have visable to be able to play with. If you had a couple of small nuts you could lock them up against each other on the screw then use a spanner to get the screw out.

I have much screw visible to play with, around 1" on either side I'd say. That sounds like a very good idea. What chain tugs then? The bike is a Genesis Day One Cross so I'm presuming it's the small kind?

I think i filed the screw head sides down so i had two flat surfaces and got the molegrips working 🙂
