Time for a new helmet. Really fancy the POC but I'm not sure how it'll be for ventilation so also looking at the XAR and Flux.
Anyone got any words of wisdom before I pull the trigger?
Currently using a Met Parachute (minus chin guard).
Cheers

Try a catlike leaf, i have one and its really good. Much better than the Xen it replaced.

I don't wear a helmet normally but when I do it's a trabec race. I don't find ventilation a problem and I guess I'd be more likely to notice than most.

Catlike looks interesting...and half the price of the POC, lighter and well vented by the looks of it!
Time for a visit to halfrauds me thinks 🙂

Flux is good, but a big old bucket and fairly heavy too. Still, I loved mine, and the venting is excellent. The newer Striker is a better helmet but not as much coverage round the back.

How about that Giro, the Feature? I'd have one of those if it fitted 🙁

In my completely subjective opinion I can wholeheartedly recommend a MET Kaos.

On One had them half price a while ago.

Using a POC Trabec Race atm, it is an awesome helmet in every way.

Two good reasons to buy one:

1) Better protection than the Xar & Flux

2) Can handle multiple impacts before needing replacement.

Simples, go pull that trigger! 🙂

How about the new Bell Super?
I've just got one and its bloody ace! Really well vented, comfy and offers a ton of coverage.

Thinking of getting one of theses
http://www.tweekscycles.com/Product.do?method=view&n=3371&g=346919&p=346917&c=215&utm_source=Google&utm_medium=Base&utm_campaign=Mountain%20Bike%20Helmets&gclid=CNO14cfkkbgCFeXItAod230AGg
as the same mips system as the Poc Trabac race, but much more affordable.
