Just wondered if anybody has recommendations of where to stay for the Tour of Flanders Sportive. Hotels in Oudenaarde seem expensive but Ghents a bit of a car journey away. Also anybody know any good apartments / flats to rent for perhaps a week.

We stayed in Ghent. It's not that far and it's a nice town to have a wander round too.

If staying in Ghent how did you get to the start/finish which I believe is in Oudenaarde?

For the full Flandrian experience, the best way to get from Gent to Oudenaarde is this....

Are you doing the full thing or the shorter 130? Only the shorter rides start in Oudenaarde. There is a good train line from Brussels that you can take bikes on that is a good option so you get stay anywhere on that line. I'll see what tine they start when I get home. In any case you woukd need a place near Oudenaarde for the main event the next day but that one the train is easy

I think Marge from here stays near Oudenaarde so might have a better idea

Ghent is a lovely place to stay (can recommend the Ghent River Hotel).
Half hour drive to oudenaarde, probably about the Same on the train.

Stayed at the Holiday Inn at the Ghent Expo last year. Tram stop next door to get into Ghent and 15 mins drive to the car parks near the start, alternatively, ride into Oudenaarde. Pondering it again next year and the family want to tag along for a short break, so if anyone knows accommodation suitable for a family of four..

Marriott in Ghent is lovely. They have absolutely no issues with bikes in rooms! Positively welcomed when we went (not for RVV, just riding).
