As it passes through Cheshire I'm going to head out to catch a glimpse at some point, thinking the climb at Allgreave any one else doing the same and where you going to watch it?

I live in west lancs so I'll nip down to Bickerstaffe. It's flat there so no doubt they'll fly through.I just hope we can see them!

@ Stanfree (or anyone else that's heading down to the borders)

Is the route coming out of Selkirk towards St Mary's ?

I was thinking about trying a quick visit to Jedburgh ( could be a faff?) ,then heading out on to the course some where before the start....or ...doing the park at Inners thing ,and pedal over to St Mary's.

Just watched them power through West Hallam - fantastic to see - and hear - the peleton hammer along what is effectively my High Street!

Most of the village were there to watch - all the kids from the school had been marshalled up to cheer them on - 350 kids make a hell of a din!

A preliminary flick through the appalling low quality photos I blasted off suggests I may have even got a snap of a tall gangly bloke in a Sky jersey mid peleton.

Morridge - KOM 3 finish

+1, if I can park close enough, since it's going to have to be an early lunch from work

Just got back from seeing it through the centre of Nottingham.
Not in full race mode at that stage, but great to see & plenty of support out there.

Saw them on an incline just before crossing the A53 near Upper Hulme.
Very impressive.
6 man break had about 5 minutes advantage over the main field.

Good day at the Tour of Britain , we were stood at the top of the K.O.M just up from the Gordon Arms . Decent sized crowd and great weather followed by a 50 miler round the stunning Border countryside.

Going to try and watch tomorrow - not sure whether to go and watch the Yodel Sprint in Caton or the climb somewhere around Quernmore. Anyone else going tomorrow around Lancaster?

I'm going tomorrow 🙂

My grandfather's in hospital in Blackpool and I said I'd visit at some point this week - for some reason I decided that tomorrow would work best 😉

Watched the first stage as it passed through my home town while visiting my folks.

Three generations of the family out to watch together. Wonderful atmosphere. As much as my son loves hos bike I think the motorbike and Police escort was his big hit of the day despite Wiggo being close enough to touch (almost).

Grum - im heading to caton to watch it. Cant decide if I should watch the sprint finish outside the pub or to go a bit further to the left turn onto quernmore rd (they will have to slow down a bit)

Bazwadah - I'm thinking I'll probably aim for the cat 3 climb out of quernmore. Tempted by the sprint in Caton though.

The Police were superb today. The first outrider holding his hand out along the crowds on the finish straight and then the others waving and mucking about with the sirens - looked like they were enjoying themselves.

Lots of them did the same during the Olympic road races and TTs (and the torch run). Was good to see them joining in. Probably makes a change to be involved in some kind of "national sporting celebration" as opposed to a car chase.

Work at Kendal Hospital so tour passes 200m from us. Will either nip 200m to the road up to Oxenholme Station or drive couple of miles to watch the KoM nearer Kirkby. have managed to catch it for the last 4 years

looking more forward to this though
