You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
I've got an early entry in for this next year, but not seeing many options for accommodation in and around the start.
Any recommendations, or ideas for somewhere within maybe 30 minutes drive?
Wothin 30mins drive?
Edinburgh!
Bit seriously, peebles has 3 hotels, various b and bs, glentress has the pods and the hotels. Inners has hotels and b and bs and a campsite.
Can you narrow it down a bit?
Sorry was a bit vague - bike friendly hotels ideally.
So i live here and don't have call to use them but Tontine, hydro, glentress hotel. All bike friendly.
Basically the entire town is bike friendly.
Tontine is literally at the start you can get your bike out the cage and cross the road... Thats your morning done.
Tontine sounds nice, but £655 for the two of us for two nights 🤯
Peebles Hydro often has deals on. Or Traquair Arms in Inners

**** me.
Would that get me a discount?
bargain at £650
I'd look at hydro next. Its a downhill skoot to the start.
One thing about travelling further. You need to factor in parking. Honestly its a nightmare. every year in town absolutely every possible space is taken by like 6am. So if you can get a hotel in town with parking its worth it.
How about a bike friendly bunkhouse?
It's been a while since I needed to stay down that way,but the Kailzie Bunkhouse was good, and very well set up for bikes.

There was an on site parking option for a fiver, in case I needed it.
👍 McDonald Cardrona, 2 nights with breakfast for £313. Booked.
I forgot about macdonald.
That will serve you nicely. The site parking is news to me, haven't noticed any improvement outside my house!
I did it for the first time this year. Stayed in a cottage for the week for the same as your quoted price at the Tontine. Really enjoyed it, spent the rest of the week mtbing at Glentress though. It's quite a long way for a sub 4hr ride though (humble brag), (you're Il'son way IIRC). You'll have time for a couple of red laps of GT in the afternoon if you've the energy.
