Longest day of the race so far yesterday, topped with a masterful sprint by Lorena Weibes.

Today is perhaps hilly enough for more GC action, but there will for sure be folk out for a breakaway win.

Coverage starts at 1300 on Eurosport/GCN/Discovery
Watching on catch-up. Anna Henderson is a deecen descender.

Persico deserves to be flat out relegated from the race for that chop. No idea how nobody went down.
Yeah, watching the sprint the first time I just thought she’d done some sweet positioning but that was a bit of a line she took.
Absolutely rad to see Vos win in yellow though. Did you know that procyclingstats have a whole data centre dedicated to her palmares?
Highlights are up
Can’t see a thread for stage 7.
Well she’s a fantastic athlete, but that was pretty dull.
Agree, but it's not her fault she's better than everyone else.
The rest of the field should have put the boot in when she was doing a Dumoulin earlier in the week.
Posted a thread a couple of times but it disappeared 🙁
Agree that while impressive, it wasn't exactly exciting to watch. AvV is quite the athlete, but like Pog, she needs a rival to make the racing better.
There is an awful lot of passive racing going on though across the peloton over the whole tour. My other half (loved the tour and the drama) turned to me the other day watching the last 5k and said "it's like geraint thomas and van der poel are racing a tour full of uk cat 2's who are just happy to sit in the grupetto all day. it's boring to watch and I'm not interested".
I couldn't massively disagree with her, except point to a few efforts by people like elisa lb to try and shake things up.
My gut says this is because there isn't the strength in depth in the field because women's cycling doesn't have the support at the junior levels to develop a breadth of athletes who are as competitive. So whilst you have a few top racers who are supported and have been doing this long enough full-time to have the capacity to train at this level, the rest of the peloton can't even sit in a breakaway for a day and even try and contest the stage and are just surviving. Unless AVV goes long it just ends in a massive disorganised bunch kick (aka every stage so far in the TDFF). Look at the chasing group on this stage. Cecilie UL had a teammate with her but she did basically no work, and UL ended up domestiquing for her domestique - bringing her bottles and ice and food only to have her fall off the back.
